About Apollo Hospitals
Learn about our values, mission, and excellence
Chairman
Apollo Hospitals was established in 1983 by Dr. Prathap C Reddy, renowned as the architect of modern healthcare in India. As the nation’s first corporate hospital, Apollo is acclaimed for pioneering the private healthcare revolution.
Our Vision
Apollo’s vision for the next phase of development is to ‘Touch a Billion Lives’.
The Group has a robust presence across the healthcare ecosystem — including Hospitals, Pharmacies, Diagnostic Clinics, Health Insurance, Telemedicine in many countries, Medical Colleges, and more. Innovations like the Proton Therapy Centre and Apollo’s E-Health initiatives strengthen its mission.
Our Mission
“Our mission is to bring healthcare of International standards within the reach of every individual. We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity.”
Guided by Dr. Reddy’s vision, Apollo has launched several social and community health programs, such as SACHi (for child heart care), SAHI (for hearing-impaired children), the CURE cancer foundation, and the Total Health Foundation in rural Andhra Pradesh.
The Government of India recognized Apollo's service with multiple commemorative stamps — a first for any healthcare institution. Dr. Reddy was also honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.
